Name me one thing that's truly exciting that isn't dangerous! Why do you think people flock to the amusement park that has the latest hightst/fastest/wildest roller coaster? Why do people go skiing? Why do people like fast cars/fast boats/fast bikes? Was sex ever as good as when you were a teenager and there was the threat of getting caught (or maybe becoming an unexpected father)? NO! I still thrill at taking my sportscar to triple-digit speeds once-or-so a year, even if it is stupid. I get the same thrills driving the Savage at 55 down a country road. The people that rag on you for riding a bike have lost their inner child, and that's their loss. Enjoy life while you have a grasp on it.
Ride far, ride safe, but just ride!
